Urgent Clinics: Saturday from 10am to 12pm

From 5pm – 8.30am on weekdays, all day weekends and public holidays, Ka Ora Telecare services are available, our phone will divert to this service after hours or you can phone 0800 2 KA ORA (0800 252 672), more details see website https://kaora.co.nz/app

About Us

We are a professional and cheerful bunch who work as a team for our patients. When you choose us, you join:

  • 4 GPs
  • 1 Nurse Practitioner
  • 6 Nurses
  • 6 Receptionists/Administrators
  • 1 Practice Manager
  • 1 Clinical Pharmacist
  • 1 Health Improvement Practitioner

Fees

Nurse Consultations $5 to $14.00

Clinical Pharmacist Consultations FREE

GP Consultations Mon-Fri 8.30 am to 5pm

Under 18 years – Free

18 years and over, $19 (enrolled) and $45 (not enrolled)

After Hours when rostered on Saturdays’ 10am to 12pm

Under 14 years – free

14-18 years – $35

18 years and over – $45 without a CSC / $35 with a CSC

Repeat Prescriptions:

  • Prescription fees:
    • With a community services card: $10
    • Without a community services card: $14
  • May be issued without a consultation.
  • Please allow 48 Hours for them to be issued.
  • These will be sent to your pharmacy and charged to your account.

Other Fees:

Unenrolled patients, extended consultations, medicals, minor procedures etc may be charged at a higher rate. Please ask at reception about these charges.

We choose to be a traditional whanau-focused practice. We recognise the injustices of poor health and work towards health equity. One of the ways we do this is to make access easier by keeping fees low with our highly trained Nurses and free with our Clinical Pharmacist for all who are enrolled with us.

We do our best:

Our patients are at the centre of everything we do, and we do our best for them. Our professional and friendly administrative team work to support you and your whanau through your health journey. They also organise your care with the best people to help you such as experienced doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

We work as a Team:

With patients in the centre, our experienced GPs work closely with our Nurses, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacist and Health Improvement Practitioners so that you always benefit from our combined expertise. As partners in your healthcare, our wonderful Nurses will organise things with the rest of our Team. They will guide you through so that you get the right care as quickly as possible.

We believe in learning and sharing knowledge and skills:

We encourage our staff to continually improve their skills. Our excellent Nurses and Nurse Practitioner have extended training, qualifications and skills. Our longstanding GPs are vocationally qualified.
Tokoroa Family Health is also a Cornerstone and teaching facility accredited for GP and Nursing training.

Our professional and friendly Receptionists and Practice Manager are skilled at managing and organising things at the ‘front of house’. They work under a lot of pressure to help you so please, be kind to them.
